Hometown Histories: Chad Soon speaks on Larry Kwong

<p>Join us for a Speaker Series co-hosted by the Museum & Archives of Vernon and the Okanagan Historical Society. <br />Chad Soon, a local teacher and fourth-generation Chinese Canadian, will be our guest speaker. Recognized by the Vancouver Canucks as a foremost historian on Larry Kwong, Chad is uniquely positioned to shed light on the life of this iconic Vernon man who made history as the first Asian NHL player. <br />During his presentation, Chad will delve into Kwong’s life and enduring impact, with a special emphasis on his experiences of growing up in Vernon during the 1920s and 30s. Copies of Chad’s co-authored book on Kwong, “The Longest Shot,” will be available for purchase at the event. Light refreshments will also be provided.</p>
