Description
The Kamloops Symphony Orchestra opens its 50th Anniversary Season with a special evening celebrating the orchestra’s past, present, and future, featuring JUNO Award-winning composer and Inuk soprano Deantha Edmunds. The evening will present her music, including the award-winning song cycle Angmalukisaa, alongside Sibelius’s Symphony No. 1, showcasing the orchestra at its most delicate and most powerful.
Originally planned in collaboration with acclaimed Cree/Mennonite cellist and composer Cris Derksen, the concert now carries additional significance following her unexpected passing in May 2026.

Venue
The Sagebrush Theatre is a 685-seat proscenium theatre, located at 1300 9th Avenue, adjacent to South Kamloops Secondary School, is owned by School District #73 and operated by the City of Kamloops and managed by Western Canada Theatre. We are the proud home of the Kamloops Symphony and Western Canada Theatre, as well as hosting a variety of local, community, and professional performances.
