Jane’s Walk is an annual festival of free, community-led walking conversations inspired by Jane Jacobs. On the first weekend of May every year, Jane’s Walk festivals take place in hundreds of cities around the world.Jane’s Walks encourage people to share stories about their neighbourhoods, discover unseen aspects of their communities, and use walking as a way to connect with their neighbours. 2026 Festival Schedule HighlightsFriday, May 1 Join us for Sidewalk Ballet Happy Hour on the patio at Red Beard, take a stroll through the Tranquille Corridor construction boom, and drop in to our Festival Launch Party at 422 Tranquille RdSaturday, May 2 Explore the relationship between neighbourhood density and infill on the North Shore, followed by the 50th Annual Walk for Peace, Social Justice and the Environment departing from the Farmers' Market. In the afternoon, join the Downtown Heritage Corridor Walk, and finish with Sidewalks and Swales in Brock to discuss the impact of basic infrastructure on the pedestrian experience.Sunday, May 3 Join us for a morning Awe Walk from Pioneer Park to Riverside Park or explore the urban anchors of Battle Street. Join us to conclude the festival with a special free screening of the documentary Citizen Jane: Battle for the City at the Paramount Theatre, Sunday May 3 at 3:00 pm.
