Joe Rich Fire Rescue hosts Recruitment Information Meetings (Wednesday & Thursday)
When the call for help comes, the Joe Rich Fire Department is always ready to respond. Now, you can be part of this dedicated team.
The Joe Rich Fire Rescue is launching its annual fall recruitment drive and is looking to add new recruits to join as paid-on-call firefighters.
Individuals passionate about serving their community and eager to learn new skills are invited to join one of two Information Sessions on September 4 or 5 starting at 7 p.m. Joe Rich Fire Rescue’s commitment to training and teamwork builds strong connections within the team and the community.
To qualify, you must be:
• A resident within the Joe Rich boundaries
• 19 to 65 years old
• A citizen of Canada
• In good physical health and condition
• Eager to support the community
Interested candidates unable to attend an information session should complete the paid-on-call firefighter application form and email it to joerichfirecommunity@rdco.com before September 6, 2024.

The Joe Rich community is a rural area within the unincorporated Central Okanagan East Electoral Area just outside the eastern boundary of Kelowna.
Approximately 550 homes with an estimated 1,200 residents are sparsely spread throughout the fire protection area of some 50 square kilometres. Joe Rich Fire Rescue responded to 100 incidents in 2023.
