DON’T TOSS IT, BRING IT TO THE REPAIR CAFE!
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22nd, 10 am to 3 pm
SAHALI CENTRE MALL, 945 Columbia Street West, Kamloops
Oct 17, 2022 Kamloops – Do you have something that isn’t working and would ratherrepair it instead of throwing it away and buying a new one?
Our team of volunteers will assist you in troubleshooting the problem and help yourepair your broken item. Anything you can carry in (except computers and cell phones)is fair game: lamps, hair dryers, toasters, clothing, bikes, furniture and toys areexamples of what we can help repair.
The Repair Cafe “fixers” have the experience to advise, assist and teach you how tocarry out the repair. We can even repair some items that are no longer manufactured.Since 2018 our skilled volunteers have saved hundreds of items from the landfill. If wefind the item is not repairable, we will offer advice on where to recycle it.The Kamloops Repair Café is an initiative of Transition Kamloops, a grassrootsorganization focused on increasing local resilience and self-sufficiency in food, water, energy, culture and wellness. The Repair Cafe concept arose in the Netherlands in2010 and has grown.
