Kelowna Women’s Clothing Swap – Fall 2019Fall is upon us, time to sweep through your closet and pass along some items while gathering new (to you) ones at the same time!DATE: Saturday, November 2nd, 2019TIME: 11:30am – 2:30pmLOCATION: Kelowna Gospel Fellowship Church, 3714 Gordon Dr, Kelowna, BCDETAILS: This is a clothing swap for adult women that also serves as a fundraiser and donation collection for the Food Bank!ADMISSION: Please bring a minimum of 2 (TWO) non-perishable food items OR $5 for the Food Bank. A list of the Food Bank’s most needed items will be posted on this event page. You must also bring a minimum of 10 (TEN) CLEAN, UN-TORN, WEARABLE clothing items. Acceptable items include ALL sizes of women’s (AGE 19+) clothing (including bras, coats, swimsuits, etc), clothing accessories (belts, scarves, purses, hats), and shoes. Please do NOT bring underwear, jewelry, children’s items, men’s items, or anything that would need to be cleaned or fixed.Hangers are NOT needed.All leftover items will be donated to The Kelowna Women’s Shelter Thrift Store.HOW IT WORKS: You MUST bring your items between 11:30am and 12:45pm. You should be in line by 12:30pm to ensure you make it in on time. If you show up later than this there is a chance you may be denied.You will be asked to place your items on the tables indicated by size. They will be placed in the main room by size/category and then you will be asked to wait outside the room until approximately 1pm before everyone will be welcome back to pick out items. There will be seating available for you to hang out inside the church while you wait. There is a bathroom available but you are encouraged to bring a mirror and clothes you are comfortable trying things on-top of to save time. Or just take things home that you think will fit. DO NOT GET DOWN TO YOUR UNDERWEAR IN THE SPACE, WEAR LEGGINGS OR A SKIRT AND A TANK TOP.Please bring your own bag to take items home. As long as you brought the minimum to get in, you are welcome to take as much as you like (to a reasonable degree, no large luggage bags/hockey duffle bags, etc).Because this is a busy event, we do NOT allow baby strollers/carriages. If you bring your children with you, you must keep babies wrapped to you, and young ones monitored closely. An event of this kind is only possible with the generous time and space donated by the Kelowna Gospel Fellowship Church and volunteers.
