<p>The North Okanagan Hospice Society (NOHS)is holding a public information session to present and gather feedback on a five-year strategic framework.<br />Community members are invited to take part in an information session on September 8, 2022, 3:30 – 6:00 p.m. at the Prestige Vernon Lodge – Ballroom 1.<br />The framework maps a path through 2026 and deals with five major areas of note.<br />1: Sustainable funding<br />Develop a funding strategy that considers all current sources and ensures sustainable stewardship to reach our goals.<br />2: Engaged and expert staff and volunteers providing excellent care<br />Develop staff and export programs to care givers, health care professionals and the public to facilitate better outcomes for clients and their families.<br />3: A palliative care service hub<br />Be the center of excellence in care for people with life altering illness and their loved ones along their end-of-life journey.<br />4: Well known in the community<br />Communicate and engage the community to raise awareness of NOHS services which will assist them in accessing the health system for diagnoses to end-of-life and bereavement care.<br />5: Robust IT system<br />Create information systems that will allow our staff, clients, visitors, partners and donors to fully engage with NOHS effortlessly and effectively.<br />“We want to engage our community in a thoughtful way, we have developed this framework, but want to hear from the residents we serve in the North Okanagan,” Lisa Mathews Executive Director NOHS said.<br />The input received at the public information session will help fine tune the framework.<br />For additional information: please contact:<br />Lisa Matthews BScN MPH<br />Executive Director<br />North Okanagan Hospice Society<br />PH: 250 503 1800 ext 106<br />Mob: 250 558 6791<br />Pronouns: She, her, hers <br />Lisa@nohs.ca www.nohs.ca</p>
