Open House at Newly-Renovated McLure Fire Hall

There will be a community barbecue and light refreshments available during the open house. Residents can also learn about firefighter opportunities, including:
Recruitment (onboarding packages will be available on site);
Paid-on-call firefighter format;
Training opportunities;
Firefighter insurance coverage (on and off duty);
Community support opportunities; and
TNRD FireSmart Program.
As part of renovations in 2023, a new apparatus bay was constructed on the eastern portion of the McLure Fire Hall which now houses the fire department’s second engine, and contains rooms for dedicated turnout gear, breathing apparatuses, and laundry. Both floors of the fire hall were also renovated, and these upgrades included a new training area, an additional washroom and replacement of the upstairs washroom, exhaust extraction and heating in the bays, upgrades to the Chief’s office, new LED lighting, and HVAC upgrades. The project cost was $661,285 and was fully grant funded by the Canada Community Building Fund.
