Did you know that about 60 per cent of Canada’s Indigenous languages are spoken in British Columbia? There are 203 First Nations communities, which speak 34 distinct languages. Use of these languages is threatened due to the impacts of residential schools and a decline of original speakers.Find out about the efforts being made by 13 BC First Nations communities to preserve and revitalize their languages for future generations in the exhibit – Our Living Languages.On display for the summer at the Penticton Museum & Archives (785 Main Street). Open Tuesday – Saturday, 10 am to 4:30 pm
