RAFT Annual General Meeting Open to Everyone

<p>Date: Saturday May 25th, 2024 <br />Time: 3pm to 4:30pm <br />Location: Hills of Peace Lutheran Church, 695 Robson Dr, Kamloops <br />Join us at the Annual General Meeting to learn about our mission and exciting ways you can support refugee settlement! <br />This event is open to everyone and will include speakers, video, discussion, and refreshments. <br />What is RAFT? <br />Since the 1970’s, and the arrival of Vietnamese “boat people”, what is now called Refugees and Friends Together (RAFT) has been assisting individuals and families settle in Kamloops. Hundreds of refugees have come to Kamloops, and with the support of RAFT, became newcomers in our community. <br />RAFT is aiming to initiate a sponsorship in 2024 to bring one or more families to Kamloops. To do this, RAFT needs a network of engaged volunteers and to fundraise $30,000 or more, depending on the size of the family. To help settle newcomers, RAFT needs Kamloops’ help.</p>
