Snow Shack

Description

TRU Event Management students are turning the second floor of the TRU Culinary Arts Building
into a retro ski loft for Snow Shack, a cozy, high-energy winter kickoff happening from 5:00 p.m.
to 9:00 p.m.

Designed as a companion event that builds momentum for Rail Riot, Snow Shack is a big
campus social that invites TRU students, friends, and the wider community to kick off
winter together. Inspired by classic Canadian ski culture from the 70s and 80s, Snow Shack
mixes the look of a throwback ski lodge with the feel of a packed party: bold one-piece ski
suits, retro sunglasses, colourful lights, and a dance floor that stays busy all night.
The night’s main event is a live set from DJ Sendszn, who will keep the dance floor moving
all evening. Once inside, guests can purchase food and drink tickets at the event, with
offerings designed to match the cozy winter theme.

“Snow Shack is our big campus social to kick off winter—a pre–Friday-night-out shindig,”
said Nicholas Hamson, part of the Snow Shack communications team. “This isn’t just a
study break. We’ve got a national touring party DJ, loud music, lights, and a room full of
people ready to dance. Grab your friends, grab your tickets, and let’s do this.”
Tickets for entry can be purchased in advance by scanning the QR codes featured on
Snow Shack posters across campus or by using the ticket link in the Instagram bio. A
limited number of tickets will also be available at the event, space permitting. Event
