Speed Networking

We are gathering 14 participants to be paired for short one-on-one interactions with professionals and business owners from various backgrounds. During each pairing, the participants will have an opprtunity to learn about each other, and to share their professional backgrounds and future goals. After two minutes, their time is up: partners exchange business cards, make plans to meet in the future, and then each person will be assigned to a new pair. Tips on how to take full advantage of this networking opportunity including sample Speed Networking questions to ask will be provided during the first 15 minutes of the event. If you are interested in taking part in this event, SOICS staff can help you prepare a short ‘elevator pitch’ which summarizes key elements of your work, educational history, and future career goals. We can also help you practice articulating this information in a smooth and succinct way within the parameters of the event.
