Description
Long time jazz club collaborator, Steph Clifford, launches her long-awaited debut recording of original songs. The Jazz Club has been honoured to support Steph in the recording of these beautiful compositions. While jazz adjacent in the alternative singer-songwriter genre, Steph worked with Jazz Club co-founders Leon Powers (long time drummer with City in Colour, who produced the album) and beloved guitarist, Jake Verburg. Leon and Jake join Steph along with the rest of the album's stellar Vancouver-based musicians and some very special guests for a live sharing of her new compositions.

We are a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to hosting jazz performances by local and visiting artists. In operation since 2009, the Jazz Club currently hosts bi-monthly shows from September through June.
Venue
Almost a decade ago, First Community embarked upon a journey to enrich connections within our community through the creation of The Nexus. With the help of local volunteers, the traditional church sanctuary was converted into a versatile community performance space with wonderfully bright acoustics, a 1000 square foot stage and comfortable, raked seating for up to 325 patrons. The Nexus at First is proud to host such groups as the Salmon Arm Jazz Club, the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra, Roots and Blues and many others on an ongoing basis. Feedback from performers and audiences alike has been spectacular. We encourage you to forge new connections through the exploration of performance, and to join us at any of the upcoming events.
