About:This year, the theme of the TEDxWUSTL event is “_______ REIMAGINED”. Our theme is inspired by all the change and progress we have witnessed this past year, specifically how people have been pushing boundaries and “reimagining” the world around us.Speakers:Bob Behnken is a NASA astronaut and engineer. After graduating from WashU in ’92, he served in the U.S. Air Force before joining NASA in 2000. Dr. Behnken was one of the first two astronauts to launch from a commercially built and operated spacecraft, the SpaceX Crew Dragon. He will be talking about his experience becoming an astronaut and living in space.Andrew Bergantz is a junior at WashU majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in aerospace engineering. He will be speaking about his experience living on the autism spectrum.Professor Tim Bono earned his undergraduate and graduate degree in psychology at WashU, and is now a professor teaching positive psychology. His talk will delve into the mental health and psychology of students.Aaliyah Allen-Coleman, a sophomore at WashU, explores the artistry of black music and challenges us to consider how genre names like “pop-rap” erase modern popular music’s roots in black culture.Jameel Spann is a WashU Prison Education Project Alumnus and Participant Coordinator at Nashville Community Bail Fund is advocating for higher education in prison and identifying resources to help people reintegrate into society with long term success.Questions & Media:Any questions should be sent to tedx@wustl.edu.
