The Art of Pruning

Arnie Cornez returns to share his expertise on pruning techniques! This time through an online experience! This class will address generic pruning techniques for most trees, with attention on proper tool selection and care. An in-depth discussion of the various types of maple and fruit tree pruning, as well as specific techniques and tools of the trade will be shared.Learn the fundamentals of cultivating the elegant, distinctive contours of well-maintained trees. Additional time will be spent on tree selection for your garden and on tree shaping and growth regulation. The objective is for you to leave the class with more confidence to prune your own trees.Arnie pruned and was a docent at Hakone Japanese Gardens in Saratoga, taught at Foothill College Horticulture Dept., and pruned at Gamble Gardens in Palo Alto.
