Jazz Royalty returns to the VJC!
Dan Brubeck, the son of legendary jazz pianist, Dave Brubeck, has made a name for himself with his original drumming style, and distinctive solos. Dan has toured the international music circuit since his early teens as the leader of his own groups and as a featured soloist with many of the world’s top symphonies, pop and jazz artists. He has an extensive recording career, and not surprisingly, numerous Grammy and Juno nominations. Quite simply, Dan Brubeck is in a league of his own: a ferocious, funny, gifted ball of polyrhythmic energy… and simultaneously, one of the most sensitive drummers on the planet.
Accompanying Dan will be two highly regarded Vancouver-based musicians: Miles Black on piano and Miles Hill on bass. This trio’s talent and creativity will captivate the audience as they play music from the Dave Brubeck songbook, as well as original compositions.
Doors open at 6:45PM.
