The Fall of the House of Usher

Take an immersive journey to the house of the Ushers,  in this fresh adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s short story The Fall of the House of Usher. Blending spectacular site specific staging, an original score, and an immersive design,  this fresh adaptation delves into Poe’s psyche, there to encounter scathing wit, thrilling visions, and some very complicated characters.  This is a theatrical experience for adults and young people alike. The show is 90 minutes in length, the first few scenes will be staged in the “downtown” area of Caravan Farm Theatre, with the majority of the play taking place in the Timber Barn. RATING: PG13 We are creating a show that we hope will have something for everyone – however, the 2 and 5 year olds may be a bit squirmy? It will have music, old fashioned theatre special effects, and a very large dragon – so it will likely have some very enthralling moments. It may be a bit spooky at times, but nothing sinister. No swear words, no overt sexuality (no covert either). It will be intellectual in the vein of Edgar Allan Poe, but laced with humour… so kind of Tim Burtonesque, kind of? We rate it PG 13, because of the talkiness of Poe and the slightly sinister tone of the Usher house.
