As a not-for-profit organization, community support of the BIG Little Science Centre is essential to our ongoing success. Our Gala event will look into the quickly approaching future of artificial intelligence with our Guest Speaker Mateen Shaikh. Mateen Shaikh earned his PhD at the University of Guelph in 2013 and was a postdoc in biostatistics at McMaster University. He was hired by Thompson Rivers University in 2017 as part of the University’s plan to deliver Data Science. Mateen was instrumental in development of the Master in Data Science scheduled to launch in Fall 2020 and is working on developing undergraduate degree in Data Science. He current holds funding from the federal government for methods in optimization and statistical machine learning used in data science.Please join us as we celebrate in style and with elegance.
