Safety is something everyone deserves. But for many in our community, the path to safety begins with hope. Join the Kelowna Women’s Shelter for Stories & Art: Hope Lives Here, an evening dedicated to telling stories of those impacted by abuse into powerful expressions of resilience, strength and bravery. Guided by our 2026 theme, Hope Lives Here, we are bringing together local artists and the community to acknowledge that domestic abuse is not a private issue, but a community issue, and with safety and support, rebuilding is possible. What to Expect: Art & Storytelling: View compelling works of art and witness live performances inspired by real stories of resilience and hope. Connection: Engage with local artists, business leaders, and community members united by a shared purpose. Support: All proceeds directly fund KWS programs and services that provide critical support to those impacted by abuse. By attending, you are not just witnessing art; you are amplifying the voices of those with lived experiences and supporting KWS’s mission to help individuals rebuild their lives with dignity.
Each ticket includes appetizers, a complimentary glass of wine and live performances.

Kelowna Women's Shelter
Since 1980, the Central Okanagan Emergency Shelter Society (operated as the Kelowna Women’s Shelter) has offered safe emergency accommodation and essentials such as food, clothing and toiletries for women and their children who have experienced domestic abuse. Serving women in need from Oyama to Peachland, we also provide, at no cost:- Ongoing individual and group domestic abuse support- Planning and transportation assistance- Advocacy and outreach- Preventive education programs for both women and children. All Kelowna Women’s Shelter services, programs, and supports are free, confidential and available 24/7. The Shelter is a member of the British Columbia Society of Transition Houses, Ending Violence Association of British Columbia, Shelter Net BC, and Women’s Shelters Canada. Venue
The Laurel Packinghouse is a multi-purpose heritage building in the heart of Kelowna’s vibrant Cultural District. It houses the Okanagan Wine and Orchard Museum, supports a variety of educational museum programs, and anchors a unique outdoor museum, the Laurel Square. “The Laurel” is a popular venue for community events. The unique and atmospheric rental hall welcomes thousands of guests every year for fundraisers, fairs, workshops, weddings, public gatherings and corporate events. In addition, the “Orchard Room” is a gallery of the museum which is available for smaller meetings and gatherings.
