Event Region - Penticton
Description
For two unforgettable nights, The Dream Café's intimate listening room welcomes one of Vancouver's most beloved live acts: The Matinee. After fifteen years of hauling their gear across North America, these lifelong friends have earned a reputation for turning a room full of strangers into a chorus, and Penticton's coziest stage is the perfect place to feel it up close.
Rooted in honest, heartfelt storytelling, The Matinee plays roots rock with a heavy dose of southern soul — the kind of songs built for stomping feet, raised glasses, and singing along by the second chorus. Their latest album, Change of Scene (Apple / Spotify), was born from a creative road trip through the Pacific Northwest and recorded live over nine days with acclaimed producer Steve Dawson. (Steve will be performing at The Dream with Fats Kaplin on March 17. 2027.) The result is a set spanning groove-driven anthems and tender, slow-burning ballads, delivered by a band that plays like it has something to prove and everything to celebrate.
Expect the full lineup in fine form: soaring three-part harmonies, twin guitars trading licks, and a rhythm section that doesn't let up. In a venue where, as The Dream likes to say, "there is no greater gift to give performers than to simply listen," every lyric and every note lands with rare intimacy.
Two nights, one remarkable band, and a room made for exactly this. Don't be the one who hears about it afterward — grab your seat and be there.
