Please join Valley Voices Vernon for our next reading at Bean Scene Coffee House, downtown Vernon. Featuring poets Michael V. Smith and Clare Thiessen, the reading brings together two thought-provoking collections. Smith—an award-winning poet, author and screenwriter— his new book of poetry “Queers Like Me” explores what it’s like to grow up gay and poor in small town Ontario. Thiessen—poet, film photographer and chapbook press operator—her debut chapbook “tiger” bravely voices her traumatic experiences with men in her teens. Both poets illuminate unique stories worth telling, worth listening to.Doors open at 6:30 pm. The reading begins at 7:00 pm
