Welcome Inn Shelter Open House

We will be hosting an open house for the public on Dec 30th. There will be light refreshments from 12 – 1pm along with a presentation by Helen Jennens from MomsStopTheHarm where she will share her story of losing her two sons to overdose. Following Helen, from 1 – 3pm we welcome Janet Bertrand, a Psychiatric nurse form BC Housing. Janet will be providing a presentation on “Supporting People Experiencing Homelessness”. It is a very practical presentation that will help us understand better the factors like trauma that contribute to homelessness and how we can better support those in our community currently experiencing it. This complex issue requires the whole community to shift perspective and work together to find ways to support people in their journey.
