The Women Outdoors Weekend is a three-day, all-inclusive experience like no other! If you are interested in fishing and hunting, boating and hiking, or painting and nature photography, the Peachland WOW getaway is for you.
Enjoy a full weekend of workshops designed to give you the skills and confidence you need to safely enjoy everything that British Columbia has to offer. Accommodation, meals, and equipment are included so you can focus on learning from expert instructors and enjoying great company in a supportive environment.
“Women are embracing the outdoors life like never before,” said Alli Deelstra, Treasurer of the B.C. Wildlife Federation. “Providing women with hands-on workshops like WOW is one of the ways that the BCWF helps remove the barriers that prevent people from taking full advantage of outdoor recreation opportunities.”
Hunting, angling, and outdoor recreation are increasingly a family affair. Nearly 10,000 women have taken the province’s prerequisite course to become a hunter in the past five years.
“Wild, naturally organic game and fish are viewed as a huge upgrade on factory-farmed food and there is nothing healthier or more rewarding than family time spent safely in the outdoors,” said Deelstra.
The BCWF recommends women-only training that provides all the skills needed to begin an active life harvesting wild food.
Space is limited and course selection is first-come, first-served. Evenings are social time and may include campfires, fun, and song. This is an alcohol and cannabis-free event. Workshops may include:
Hiking and wilderness safety
Archery and marksmanship
Off-road Driving
Fishing Basics
Fire starting and axe safety
Canoeing
Truck and trailer
Fur handling and pelt preparation
Chainsaw safety and basics

Cost: Members: $399.99 (+GST)
Non-members: $455.99 (+GST), which includes a one-year membership to the B.C. Wildlife Federation.
Fees include instruction in all sessions, program materials, use of equipment, meals, and lodgings.
