Description
Inspired by autumn, harvest, and Halloween, join us to celebrate pumpkins this season. Learn a new artful, handmade technique by wet-felting a pumpkin. Each cantaloupe sized three-dimensional vessel will be made with wool by using a resist, soap, and warm water. This technique will help you form the stem as well as the hollow form of the pumpkin.
This wet-felting process is commonly used to make vessels, slippers, and hats. We will cover how using a resist works for the desired outcome. Instruction will include measuring, shaping, and finishing, all while making your own personalized, functional art. Come in comfy clothing and be prepared to roll your sleeves up and be ready to work with water and soap.

The Kelowna Art Gallery is located in the heart of the Cultural District in downtown Kelowna, B.C. The Gallery hosts a number of events throughout the year, including artist’s talks, film screenings, fundraisers, community projects, and other special events. We partner with organizations like Kelowna Pride to provide a welcoming space to host their important community events. Our Permanent Collection houses nearly 1,000 works of art, which can be seen through periodic exhibitions that draw work from the collection.
