SURREY \u2014 Police in British Columbia say a multi-year investigation into an organized crime case has uncovered a large stash of illicit drugs as well as $1.5 million in cash.<\/p>\n
Investigators say they began looking into the interprovincial drug trafficking case in December 2024, making smaller drug seizures and gathering evidence before identifying five places to serve search warrants.<\/p>\n
Then, on May 3, police arrested a commercial truck driver in Delta, B.C., during an alleged “drug-related exchange” where 10 one-kilogram cocaine bricks were seized.<\/p>\n
The arrest touched off raids across Metro Vancouver at locations including houses, a condo and a storage facility, resulting in the seizure of 26 kilograms of cocaine and seven kilograms of methamphetamine.<\/p>\n
The cash was also discovered at the sites along with five vehicles, a commercial tractor trailer and 16 firearms.<\/p>\n
Police say criminal charges are expected in the case, and investigators are linking the seized items to people who police believe “pose a significant threat to public safety.”<\/p>\n
