“All they need to do, with a stroke of a pen, they can approve our request if they chose to do that, but they’re choosing not to.”

For the first time, council is doing what Reid Hamer-Jackson feels he was elected to do and he’s taking his victory lap.

“We had a minister in a meeting that said he would support recovery-based housing if we had data to support it.”

He said he ‘panicked’ when he realized he’d made a mistake.

“You committed conduct unbecoming of a licensee,” the regulator said.

Menethil Properties racked up a $9,000 fine having been charged $250 a day after it failed it respond to an investigation letter sent by the regulator in May.

City staff are estimating the neighbourhood would require $100 million in water system upgrades if built.

It comes just days after Penticton council also tried and failed to restrict drug use at a now-cancelled BC Housing site.
