Stunning captures of Pink Moon over Kamloops, Okanagan

Photographers and night sky watchers in Kamloops and the Okanagan trekked out to get photos of the full Pink Moon last night and captures didn't disappoint.

The Pink Moon is named after a creeping moss called mountain phlox which is native to the eastern United States and flowers in spring, and has also been called the Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon or Fish Moon, among others.

Last night may have been the best time to get a good photo of the Moon as it begins to wane. Environment Canada is calling for mostly cloudy skies and some rain showers in the Okanagan and Kamloops tonight.

If you have a photo of last night's full Moon you'd like to share, send us an email at news@infonews.ca.
