iN PHOTOS: Imaginative Halloween displays popping up in Okanagan, Kamloops

Halloween is approaching and some creative residents in the Okanagan and Kamloops are making things festive in their neighbourhoods with spooky displays.

Kelowna resident Glenda Schwandt spends weeks ahead of Halloween night setting up her creative display, and adds to it every year.

“It’s a creative outlet and bonding time for me and my husband,” she said. “It’s about thinking of creative ideas, having fun and watching the reactions of people passing by.”

A gruesome dentist table and a coffin are a couple of things Schwandt sets up.

“Every year we add on to what I have. I might not have the latest and greatest models of things, but I make some myself out of repurposed materials.”

Lights, inflatable pumpkins and creepy skeletons are just a few of the things decorating front yards this time of year, helping to bring the spirit of Halloween.
