iN PHOTOS: Gardners create beautiful backyard oases in Kamloops, Okanagan
Spring has brought a mix of sun, clouds and rain in Kamloops and the Okanagan this year and while some plants are just beginning to bloom in some areas, enthusiastic gardeners have wasted no time creating beautiful backyard oases to enjoy.
Kelowna resident Lauren Owens designed a cottage garden with a Victorian inspired greenhouse and added animal statues and a white picket fence.
“Creating a beautiful backyard space is like traveling to anywhere you want to be in the world,” she told iNFOnews.ca. “Whether it’s a sun drenched Mediterranean terrace, or a French country romantic courtyard, you can build whatever makes you feel happy.”

These decorative properties bursting with flowers and shrubs look perfect for relaxing while the sun comes up or for winding down after a long day. The stunning spaces beautify our neighbourhoods and are a testament to hardworking gardeners and landscapers.
“My backyard space is my favourite place to be,” Owens said. “Nothing could be better for my soul than slowing down to watch a bumblebee sleep in a huge Zinnia flower or the joy of tossing a worm to a tired mother robin to help her feed her babies.”
If you have an immaculate backyard space, we’d love to include your photos. Email them to news@infonews.ca.
