An 82-unit condo project in Kamloops got approval from the City nearly two years ago. Work hasn't started yet, but now it's up for sale.<\/p>\n
The Pineview neighbourhood development includes two planned buildings with 41 homes each. Fraserview Development Corp. got its development permit in August 2021, but so far only started preliminary earthworks.<\/p>\n
The property is advertised by Avison Young for $3.7 million at 1800 Copperhead Drive. It would be one of the largest projects in a neighbourhood of mostly single family homes.<\/p>\n
Fraserview proposed a building concept that included 52 one-bedroom units and 30 two-bedrooms within the two three-storey buildings.<\/p>\n
Dozens wrote to the City in opposition to the new development, voicing concerns for their property values, privacy and increased traffic in the area. Another 152 signed a petition opposing it.<\/p>\n
City council, however, approved the project in August 2021 with a 4-2 vote. One councillor was absent and another stepped away from the vote citing a conflict.<\/p>\n
