Kelowna resident Bryon Treasure discovered he was $500,000 richer while on a road trip to Vancouver.<\/p>\n
Treasure was at a friend’s house when he learned he had won $500,000, according to a B.C. Lottery Corporation media release.<\/p>\n
“Holy,” he said in the release. “I told my girlfriend and she didn’t believe me.”<\/p>\n
Treasure won the Extra prize from the Sept. 16 Lotto Max draw with a ticket he purchased at the Canco on Highway 33 East in Kelowna.<\/p>\n
He plans to splurge on an extra nice hotel room during his next trip to Vancouver and looks forward to purchasing a home in the near future.<\/p>\n
“I was thinking about my kids’ future when I bought the ticket and the ability to purchase a home,” he recalled. “I was very happy.”<\/p>\n
