A building in West Kelowna was evacuated due to a gas leak in the middle of the night last night.<\/p>\n
Police, the fire department and other emergency services worked to evacuate the residential building at the 2400 block of Gossett Road, according to a release by Kelowna RCMP.<\/p>\n
Residents were directed to the Westbank Lions Community Hall at 2466 Main Street in West Kelowna to register with Emergency Social Services which started at 3 a.m. today, Dec. 26. <\/p>\n
This is an isolated emergency affecting only the residence at this location and there is no risk to the surrounding neighborhood, said RCMP.<\/p>\n
Members of the public not involved are asked to stay away from the area.<\/p>\n
