But it pays off when other cities have to raise taxes dramatically to play catch up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are some figures for tax rates in Kamloops and the Okanagan:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>4.46: <\/strong>Dollars per $1,000 of property value was Kelowna\u2019s total residential tax rate for 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>6.47: <\/strong>Dollars per $1,000 of property value was Kamloops\u2019 total residential tax rate for 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>5.44: <\/strong>Dollars per $1,000 of property value was Penticton\u2019s total residential tax rate for 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>5.56: <\/strong>Dollars per $1,000 of property value was Vernon\u2019s total residential tax rate for 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2: <\/strong>Per cent. That was the drop in typical home assessment value in Kelowna for 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>918,000:<\/strong> Dollars. That was the typical assessed property value for Kelowna for 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>0: <\/strong>That was the change in typical assessed property value for Kamloops in 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>693,000: <\/strong>That\u2019s the typical assessed property value for Kamloops in 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2.5: <\/strong>Per cent. That was the drop in the total value of real estate in B.C. so far in 2026 compared to 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-flourish
