A few percentage points might not feel like a lot to renters in cities like Kelowna and Kamloops, but it\u2019s at least a bit of reassurance as things seem to keep spiralling into un-affordability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyways, here\u2019s the numbers from <a href=\"https:\/\/rentals.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rentals.ca<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>9.2:<\/strong> Per cent. That\u2019s how much the average asking rent has gone down for a one-bedroom apartment in Kelowna over the past year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>27: <\/strong>That\u2019s Kelowna\u2019s ranking on the list of most expensive Canadian cities to rent in. North Vancouver is at the top.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>3.9: <\/strong>Per cent. That\u2019s how much the average asking rent has gone up for a one bedroom apartment in Kamloops over the past year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>32:<\/strong> That\u2019s Kamloops\u2019 ranking on the list of most expensive Canadian cities to rent it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>5.7: <\/strong>Per cent. That\u2019s how much the average rent fell in B.C. over the last year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2,009:<\/strong> Dollars. That\u2019s the average rent for all unit types in Kamloops.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2,093:<\/strong> Dollars. That\u2019s the average rent for all unit types in Kelowna.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2,029:<\/strong> Dollars. That\u2019s the average national rent for all unit types.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>828:<\/strong> Square feet. That\u2019s the average size of a rental unit these days, which is down from 862 square feet two years ago. Shrinkflation, baby!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>30:<\/strong> Consecutive months.
