Highway 97 at Orchard Park mall in Kelowna closed for police incident

Kelowna RCMP are releasing few details to the public about a police incident that is impacting traffic on Harvey Avenue in the area of the Orchard Park Shopping Centre.

Highway 97 is closed in both directions at both Cooper Road and Hardy Road due to a police incident today, Feb. 27, according to an RCMP media release.

Expect major delays. Drivers are being asked to stay away from the area.

DriveBC says to expect a closure of up to eight hours.

Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Ryan Watters says in the release that it’s a developing investigation with more information to be released when it becomes available.
