Woman busted for drugs and weapons in Kamloops

A traffic stop in Kamloops led to police arresting the driver after an officer spotted weapons near her.

At about 2:15 a.m. yesterday, Nov. 9, an officer patrolling along Westsyde Road stopped a white Mustang to check if the driver was licenced and spotted a large knife, brass knuckles and an axe handle.

A further search found a bag of suspected methamphetamine.

“The woman was arrested for offences including possession of a prohibited weapon,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson, said in a news release. “The items were seized for destruction and the woman was released at scene.”
