Langley man arrested after making threats, racist comments on Kamloops city bus

A Langley man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he threatened a person on a city bus and damaged the bus itself.

Kamloops RCMP responded on July 26, around 1:15 p.m., to find a bystander holding him down, according to a news release.

“Throughout his interaction with police, the suspect made threats directed at all police in general and continuously shouted racist comments at one of the responding officers,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn of Kamloops RCMP said in the release.

Police arrested the man at the 1200-block of Summit Drive then took him to city cells to "sober up and calm down," police said.

He was released with a court date and RCMP anticipate recommending charges after prosecutors assess the case.
