UPDATE: Highway 97A north of Enderby reopens after police incident

An unfolding police incident closed Highway 97A north of Enderby this afternoon.

The highway was closed to traffic from the interchange of Highway 97A and 97B to Sicamous early today, June 19, according to an RCMP media release. The highway reopened at around 3 p.m.

DriveBC said the police incident as at the Mara Lake Rest Area.

RCMP said updates will be provided when available.

Meanwhile, a collision has Highway 97 closed in both directions near Monte Lake. Highway 97B had been used as a detour for that incident.
