iN TRAFFIC: Light snow expected in Kamloops, Okanagan

Traffic appears to be flowing smoothly throughout most of Kamloops and the Okanagan this morning, Nov. 16. 

The only issue in the region appears to be impacting southbound traffic on Highway 5 near Kamloops. Four kilometres south of the city, one lane is closed as a vehicle is being recovered between Inks Lake Road and Chuwhels Mountain Road, according to Drive B.C.

Anyone travelling on the Coquihalla Highway between Merritt and Hope can expect delays up to 30 minutes due to construction between exits 250 and 231, according to Drive B.C. Traffic is reduced to single-lane alternating traffic and will be stopped periodically.

Charles Andrews, who commutes from Armstrong to Sicamous via Highway 97, reported that the road is mostly bare and dry this morning. 

However snow is in the forecast throughout the region. 

The temperatures in Kamloops will fluctuate between -1 Celsius and -7 C today with periods of light snow.

Vernon will have a high of -1C and a low of -5 C with periods of light snow.

Kelowna will also have a high of -1 C and a low of -5 C with periods of light snow in the evening.

Anyone in Penticton will feel a high of -1 C and a low of -2 C with periods of light snow in the evening.
