One dead in Highway 5 crash north of Kamloops

One person is dead and another has been rushed to hospital following a collision on Highway 5 north of Kamloops.

According to a B.C. Highway Patrol media release, the crash involved two commercial vehicles and a pickup and took place near Louis Creek, about 60 kilometres north of Kamloops.

Highway 5 is currently closed in both directions following the crash that took place at about noon today, Feb. 9.

Officers from Barriere, Clearwater and B.C. Highway Patrol in Kamloops responded to the crash which has now been passed to B.C. Highway Patrol for investigation.

"At this point in the investigation there is no indication of any criminality as a contributing factor," the release says.
