Kamloops RCMP seeks suspect in stolen BMW investigation

Surveillance footage released by Kamloops RCMP shows one unknown suspect after a stolen BMW rammed a police cruiser.

Police are looking to identify the man who is involved in the theft of a grey BMW from the Tournament Capital Centre last month.

“Since the initial report, police have reviewed security footage and obtained images related to the investigation,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn of Kamloops RCMP said in a news release.

A backpack with the vehicle's keys was stolen from the Tournament Capital Centre on Dec. 15.

A female driver later rammed a parked police cruiser on Cornwall Street, but she and the male passenger abandoned the vehicle on Renfrew Street, according to a Dec. 19 news release.

It appears from surveillance footage the male suspect may have stolen the backpack from the Tournament Capital Centre.

“We are releasing photos of a male suspect in hopes that someone will identify him, or that he’ll turn himself into police, and help further the investigation," Evelyn said.

The suspect is described as Caucasian with dark hair. He was wearing black runners with white laces and white soles and dark pants. He also had a grey jacket with a red stripe from the neck to the wrists.

The driver was described as 20 to 30-year-old Caucasian woman with dirty blond or brown hair.
