UPDATE: Highway 1 reopens after vehicle incident near Sorrento

The Trans-Canada Highway has reopened near Sorrento this afternoon after a crash.

DriveB.C. reported a vehicle incident on the highway west of Sorrento at Little River Road caused the road's closure but has since reported the incident has been cleared.

Delays due to congestion are expected. A spokesperson with the B.C. RCMP said this crash occurred between two vehicles and the road`s closure was due to an air ambulance on scene but she did not have details on how the crash occurred or the number of injuries.

B.C. Emergency Heath Services and the Chase Fire Department could not be immediately reached for comment.
