Kelowna RCMP hands out hundreds of tickets in dangerous driving crackdown

Kelowna RCMP say they have cracked down on dangerous driving this year by giving out hundreds of tickets.

In 2025, police in Kelowna have handed out 154 tickets for speeding in a school zone, 34 tickets for speeding, 77 tickets for drivers caught using an electronic device, 24 tickets for driving without a license, 47 tickets for not having insurance, six for driving without care, and five vehicles impounded for speeding, according to a press release from police.

There were 24 drivers who were given a roadside prohibition, 15 were prohibited from driving for 30 days, seven for three days, and two for seven days.

As the weather warms up police are going to be on the lookout for street racing, speeding, and impaired driving.

If you see someone driving dangerously or putting others at risk, the police urge you to call 9-1-1 immediately. Non-emergency calls can also be made by calling the Kelowna RCMP Detachment at 250-762-3300.
