

Police closed the Trans-Canada Highway after a fatal collision with a pedestrian in Salmon Arm early this morning.
BC Ambulance told Salmon Arm RCMP that a male pedestrian was in cardiac arrest after he was struck by an eastbound vehicle at 12:10 a.m. today, Sept. 15, according to a press release from police.
The man died of his injuries at the scene.
The driver stayed at the scene and has cooperated with the investigation. Police don’t suspect impairment from drugs or alcohol as a factor in the collision.
Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service were called out to help with the investigation.
The section of highway where the crash happened had been closed for the investigation but is supposed to be open later this morning.
