Kelowna RCMP seize thousands in cash and drugs during traffic stops

Kelowna RCMP found drug traffickers in traffic stops over the weekend.

Police were “engaged in targeted enforcement efforts” around Kelowna and managed to seize drugs and cash during several traffic stops, according to a press release from the RCMP issued today, Sept. 15.

The Proactive Enforcement Unit and Crime Reduction Unit seized two vehicles, thousands of dollars in cash and more than a kilogram of drugs.

The Crime Reduction Unit found illegal cigarettes, drugs and more than $18,000 in cash on Friday night alone, RCMP said.

“We will continue to do as much targeted enforcement as we can to make sure we have the greatest impact,” RCMP Supt. Chris Goebel said in the release.

Anyone with information about criminal activity can call Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 or go online here.
