Jeep driver killed in crash with logging truck near Williams Lake

The driver of a Jeep Gladiator died in a crash with a logging truck west of Williams Lake last week.

The collision happened on Highway 20 in Riske Creek at around 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, according to an RCMP media release issued today, Aug. 15.

The driver of the Jeep, and the only person in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

RCMP say the investigation is still in the “very early stages” and all avenues of investigation are being pursued.

Police have not identified the person killed nor do they say if the driver of the logging truck was injured. No word either on any charges that may be laid as a result of the collision.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or has dashcam video, are asked to contact the BC Highway Patrol in Williams Lake at 250-392-6211.
