Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a fatal ATV crash in the North Okanagan last night.<\/p>\n
According to a Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media release, a 47-year-old Quesnel man overshot a corner and went over an embankment while driving an ATV in the 100 block of Shuswap Falls Road near Lumby.<\/p>\n
Another person who was riding an ATV with the man went to a nearby residence and called for help. Police got the call at around 7:30 p.m. yesterday, July 25.<\/p>\n
Rescuers tried to save the man, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n
"While the cause of the collision remains under investigation, alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the incident," Vernon North Okanagan RCMP spokesperson Const. Chris Terleski said in the release.<\/p>\n
No other details have been released by RCMP.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
