The Trans-Canada Highway is closed near Chase in the Shuswap.<\/p>\n

AIM Roads, the region's highway maintenance contractor, reported the closure is due to a landslide and said motorists can expect major delays – hours-long waits for the next one to two days.<\/p>\n

DriveBC a geotechnical investigation is underway.<\/p>\n

The closure between Shuswap Avenue and Coburn Street roughly a kilometre west of Chase was reported just after 1 p.m. today, Feb. 8.<\/p>\n

There are detours around the closure. Highways 97, 97A and 97B can be used as alternative routes.<\/p>\n
