Temperatures are going to be lower than normal throughout Southern B.C.<\/p>\n
A cold spell is in effect and Environment Canada<\/a> has issued special weather statements for most of the province, including Kamloops and the Okanagan.<\/p>\n “Temperatures will be 5 to 10 degrees colder than normal for this time of year in the central and southern interior of B.C.,” the statement says.<\/p>\n “A short period of gusty winds will accompany the cold air's arrival through the interior, and may combine with snow leading to a brief period of blowing snow Saturday.”<\/p>\n Highway 5<\/strong> is open in both directions again, north of Kamloops, following a semi rollover, according to DriveB.C.<\/p>\n DriveB.C.<\/a> is also reporting Highway 1<\/strong> is foggy between Chase and Revelstoke and water is pooling between Jackass Mountain Summit and Spences Bridge; Highway 3<\/strong> has fog patches from Princeton to Hedley; Highway 5A<\/strong> has compact snow between Kamloops and Merritt; Highway 6EW<\/strong> has fog from Vernon to Cherryville; and Highway 97C <\/strong>has compact snow between Merritt and the end of the highway and blowing snow from Pennask Summit to West Kelowna.<\/p>\n Charles Andrews commutes from Armstrong to Sicamous via Highway 97A<\/strong>, and he reported a "great" drive this morning.<\/p>\n "Patches of light fog at Armstrong," he said. <\/p>\n Temperatures in Kamloops<\/a> will range between 3 Celsius a 5 C today, according to Environment Canada. Vernon<\/a> and Kelowna<\/a> are both in for a high of 6 C and low of 1 C. Penticton<\/a> is in for a high of 5 C and low of a 1 C.<\/p>\n At the ski hills, Big White Mountain Resort<\/a>, is reporting 7 centimetres of new snow and 30 cm over the past week.
