{"id":1403,"date":"2023-01-11T23:06:27","date_gmt":"2023-01-12T07:06:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/infonews.ca\/inwheels\/2023\/01\/11\/in-traffic-drivers-can-expect-snow-flurries-and-rain-in-the-interior-today\/"},"modified":"2023-01-12T07:06:27","modified_gmt":"2023-01-12T15:06:27","slug":"in-traffic-drivers-can-expect-snow-flurries-and-rain-in-the-interior-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/infonews.ca\/inwheels\/news\/1403\/in-traffic-drivers-can-expect-snow-flurries-and-rain-in-the-interior-today\/","title":{"rendered":"iN TRAFFIC: Drivers can expect snow, flurries and rain in the Interior today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> Today is off to a wet start for anyone driving around in Kamloops or the Okanagan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"http:\/\/drivebc.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DriveB.C.<\/a> is reporting that it&rsquo;s snowing on <strong>Highway 1 <\/strong>between Jackass Mountain Summit and Spences Bridge,&nbsp;there&rsquo;s black ice between Chase and Sicamous, and it&rsquo;s slushy with slippery sections from Sicamous to Revelstoke; <strong>Highway 5<\/strong> is slushy with slippery sections from Great Bear Snowshed to Coquihalla Summit, and it&rsquo;s snowing Coquihalla Summit to Merritt; <strong>Highway 8 <\/strong>has compact snow and slippery sections throughout;<strong> Highway 97<\/strong>&nbsp;has slippery sections between Coldstream and Vernon;&nbsp;<strong>Highway 97A<\/strong> has slippery sections from Enderby to Sicamous; it&rsquo;s snowing on <strong>Highway 97C<\/strong> from Pennask Summit to Merritt; and it&rsquo;s snowing on <strong>Highway 97D<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p> Charles Andrews, who commutes to Sicamous from Armstrong via Highway 97A, said the road was good this morning.<\/p>\n<p> &ldquo;Mostly raining with a little snow that isn&rsquo;t sticking,&rdquo; he said. &ldquo;No fog to speak of.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p> Looking at weather, <a href=\"https:\/\/weather.gc.ca\/city\/pages\/bc-45_metric_e.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kamloops<\/a> will warm from 0 to 5 Celsius throughout the day. <a href=\"https:\/\/weather.gc.ca\/city\/pages\/bc-27_metric_e.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vernon<\/a> will get a high of 2 C and low of 0. <a href=\"https:\/\/weather.gc.ca\/city\/pages\/bc-48_metric_e.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kelowna<\/a> is in for a high of 3 C and low of 0. And in <a href=\"https:\/\/weather.gc.ca\/city\/pages\/bc-84_metric_e.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Penticton<\/a> temperatures will start at 3 C today and warn up to 6 C by 5 p.m. Flurries and showers are in the forecast throughout the region.<\/p>\n<p> At the ski hills, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bigwhite.com\/mountain-conditions\/daily-snow-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Big White Mountain Resort<\/a> is reporting no new snow but 28 centimetres over the past week.
